today I took over the instagram feed of the Foodstand for their “nofoodwaste” campaign this June and I posted a picture of sugared strawberry chips on oatmeal. I made this breakfast, to make use of the almost spoiling strawberries that were waiting to be eaten. The recipe for the strawberry chips is suuuuper easy and I did not want to keep it from you guys. Check out a picture of the deliciousness below:
For 1 baking sheet of strawberry chips you need:
- 2 hands full of strawberries
- 1/3 cup of sugar or better : 1/3 cup of agave syrup (the healthy alternative)
- 4 table spoons of water
Start cutting the strawberries into thin slices and spread them on baking paper on the baking sheet. Mix the sugar/agave syrup in a cup with the water, so that it becomes an even mixture. Now sprinkle this sugar/agave syrup – water mixture on the strawberry slices on the sheet.
Bake the strawberry slices in the oven for 2 hours at 80°Celcius. For faster drying, you can also flip the strawberry slices around after 1 hour.
The strawberry chips can be used for so many meals such as on muesli or oatmeal, in salad, smoothie and acai bowls, pancakes or cake.
Enjoy and CARPE DELI ! 🙂
