Hey everybody,The grey November days have arrived and the weather definitely calls for tasty and cozy hot drinks. When adjusting to winter, different coffees and teas are already a good option. However, there is one drink, that is pretty amazing too for the cold days: Mexican horchata ! Sooooooo good. Check out, the picture to the recipe below:
For this recipe, you need:
- 2 cups of water
- 3 ½ cups of (soy) milk
- 1 cup of long grain white rice
- ½ cup of almonds
- ½ cup of honey
- 1 table spoon of vanilla sugar
- ½ table spoon of cinnamon
- whipped cream (edible)
- caramel syrup (edible)
- nuts (edible)
First of all, add the almonds, the rice, the vanilla sugar and the cinnamon to a blender. Blend them all together to a smooth mixture for about 2 minutes. Afterwards, fill the mixture into a big jar or vessel and let is stay there for about 1 hour. After one hour, start cooking the water and heat up the soy milk. Once both are cooking add them to the rice/almond mixture in the vessel. Stir the drink thoroughly and then let it stand for about 5 minutes.
Then fill it into jars and add whipped cream, caramel syrup or nuts on top of the drink.
Enjoy and CARPE DELI !
