Hello my dear sunday breakfast lovers,
For my first official blog entry to welcome you to my page I am posting something special: Amercian style pancakes, topped with caramelized pears, roses and honey.
These are perfect for days when you have pears left, and are not sure what to do with them. Sometimes, pears on your oatmeal or plainly eaten just seems to boring. And for sure, these precious fruit should not end up in the trash ! So, here is the deliciousness that you can make:
For this recipe you need:
- 2 biological eggs
- 1 cup of flour
- 1 cup of (soy) milk
- 1 pack of biological vanilla sugar
- 3 pears
- a pack of tearoses or rose leaves
- 1 cup of honey
First of all, you separate the eggs and mix the egg white and the yolk until they get a fluffy and foamy consistency.
Add the (soy) milk and mix it well. Then, add the flour slowly while mixing. Lastly, add the vanilla sugar to the pancake mix. Heat up a pan and pour small amounts of the batter in the pan slowly, in order to get the American style pancake size. Once you can see bubbles appear on the batter, you can turn the pancake around and fry the other side. Do this for all of the pancakes.
Next, heat up the pan and pour half of the cup of the honey in the pan. Cut the pears into slices and lay them out in the pan once the honey is heating up and carramelizing. Let the pear slices caramelize in the pan for about 3-4 minutes.
Stack the pancakes on top of each other on a plate. Lay the caramelized pear slices out on the top pancake. And on the bottom of the plate if needed. Pour the remaining half cup of honey over the pancakes and add the roses to it.
CARPE DELI and enjoy !
